This commission recommends programs to increase goodwill among all residents of Monterey Park; make residents aware of the services, programs and organizations available; and involve the City’s youth in community activities.
Activities conducted by this commission include the Annual Harmony Festival each October, a celebration of cultural diversity in the community, featuring the Town Square Fair, Film Festival, Photo and Essay Contest and award dinner, Harmony Ball, museum tour, and community roundtable discussion; the founding and oversight entity of the Youth Advisory Board, and monitoring an annual review of the City’s multi-lingual policy.
